The Victron BlueSolar 235Wp monocrystalline solar panel is a robust glass panel for campers, boats, and other off-grid installations. Its anodized aluminum frame, tempered glass, and bypass diodes make it suitable for fixed mounting in various conditions.
- 235Wp nominal power
- Monocrystalline solar cells
- Dimensions: 1350 × 880 × 30 mm
- Weight: 12.48 kg
Why this Victron BlueSolar panel?▾
- Good low-light performance and sensitivity across a wide light spectrum.
- Waterproof junction box and bypass diodes to minimize power loss due to partial shading.
- Sturdy aluminum frame and tempered glass for fixed mounting.
- Integrates well with a Victron MPPT charge controller and VictronConnect.
Actual yield depends on the season, solar radiation, shading, mounting orientation, and the battery's state of charge.

What else do you need?▾
- Charge controller: Victron SmartSolar MPPT 100/20 for one panel on a 12V battery installation.
- Solar cable: 6mm², 2 × 5m with connectors.
- Battery cable and fuse: 6mm², 2 × 1m with 25A fuse, with the fuse close to the battery or positive busbar.
- Roof gland: choose a suitable roof gland for the cable route indoors.
- Cable management: use UV and weather-resistant adhesive mounts and cable ties.
Never connect a solar panel directly to the battery. Always use a correctly sized charge controller and protection.
Mounting on campervan, boat, or frame▾
Campervan: preferably use aluminum Z-profiles on a ribbed or slightly curved metal roof.
Boat: plastic corner mounts are a practical choice on a suitable flat deck.
Flat camper roof or other structure: for this panel width, no suitable spoiler wider than 68 cm is available. Therefore, mount the panel using Z-profiles or corner mounts, or on a suitable frame or roof rack.
Measure the available space beforehand and consider roof hatches, ventilation, rails, and mounting hardware. Carefully degrease the surface, use suitable construction sealant and primers, and seal all penetrations watertight.
Use with a 24V battery▾
The higher panel voltage allows for 24V applications, but always check the chosen MPPT, temperature margin, and system design.
With a 24V system, the same MPPT can handle approximately twice as much solar panel power as with 12V, but only when the panel voltage, maximum open-circuit voltage, and wiring are appropriate.
Common mistakes▾
- Connecting the panel directly to the battery.
- Only focusing on wattage and forgetting panel voltage or Voc.
- Using a cable that is too thin or omitting a fuse.
- Combining panels with different electrical properties without checking.
- Not accounting for shading, roof obstructions, and space for mounting.
