The Victron Lynx Smart BMS 1000 NG (M10) is the central battery management and protection system for Victron Lithium NG batteries. It combines a BMS, main contactor, battery monitoring and communication in a single Lynx module.

The 1000A version is intended for large and very highly loaded camper, marine and off-grid installations.

Battery and system compatibility ▾

The Lynx Smart BMS NG is designed for Victron Lithium NG batteries. The battery cables for cell monitoring are connected to the BMS connections; with multiple batteries, the BMS cables are daisy-chained according to the Victron instructions.

  • Choose the BMS current rating based on the maximum charging and discharging current.
  • Combine with Lynx Distributor modules for fused DC distribution.
  • Use a GX device when extensive local and remote monitoring is desired.
Installation & safety ▾
  • Use suitable M10 cable lugs for all DC connections.
  • Size the main fuse, cables and busbars for the maximum system current.
  • Follow the prescribed order of cable lug, rings and nut.
  • Connect BMS and communication cables before commissioning the system.
  • Check all settings in VictronConnect during commissioning.
A high-current lithium system requires a careful electrical and mechanical design. Have the installation checked if in doubt.
What else do you usually need? ▾
  • One or more Victron Lithium NG batteries.
  • Suitable Lynx Distributor modules and MEGA fuses.
  • Main fuse, battery cables and M10 cable lugs.
  • Suitable charging equipment and inverter/charger.
  • Optionally Cerbo GX or another GX device for VRM monitoring.
FAQ ▾

Can I use this BMS with a SuperPack NG?
This is normally not necessary: the SuperPack NG has an integrated BMS. The Lynx Smart BMS NG is intended for the modular Lithium NG batteries.

When do I choose 1000A?
The choice depends on the maximum current of inverters, charging sources and DC consumers. The fuses and cables must be matched to the same design current.

Can I view the system remotely?
Yes. Via VE.Can, a GX device can send the data to the VRM Portal.
