The Victron Lithium NG 12.8 V/300Ah is a LiFePO4 battery for high-quality energy systems in campers, boats and off-grid installations. With 3840Wh of nominal energy, this model offers plenty of usable capacity and a high load capacity.

This battery is designed for integration with the Victron ecosystem and is combined with an external Lynx Smart BMS NG.

Why this Victron Lithium NG battery? ▾

This battery is intended as part of a complete Victron Lithium NG system. The external BMS, main fuse, cabling and charging equipment must be sized for the installation.

BMS and system compatibility ▾

The Lithium NG series requires an externally compatible Victron BMS. For medium-sized installations, the Lynx Smart BMS 500 NG is often suitable; for very high system currents, there is the Lynx Smart BMS 1000 NG.

  • The BMS monitors the cells and intervenes in case of unsafe voltage or temperature.
  • The choice of 500A or 1000A depends on the maximum charging and discharging current of the entire system.
  • Combine the BMS with suitable Lynx distribution, main fuse and cable cross-sections.
Installation & safety ▾
  • Mount the battery upright or on its side, but never with the connection terminals facing downwards.
  • Secure the battery firmly against movement in all directions.
  • Place a suitable main fuse as close as possible to the battery or battery bank.
  • Size cables and connection materials for the maximum system current and cable length.
  • Use charging equipment with a correct lithium charging profile.
Lithium systems can deliver very high fault currents. If in doubt, have the design and installation checked by a professional installer.
What else do you usually need? ▾
  • Victron Lynx Smart BMS NG, sized for the maximum system current.
  • Main fuse and fuse holder or a suitable Lynx distribution.
  • Battery cables, cable lugs and connection material with sufficient cross-section.
  • Suitable battery charger, MPPT charge controller and optionally an alternator charger.
  • Battery monitoring via VictronConnect and optionally a GX device with VRM.
FAQ ▾

Can I use this battery without a BMS?
No. Always use a compatible Victron BMS that can safely control charging and discharging.

Is this the same battery as the SuperPack NG?
No. The SuperPack NG has an integrated BMS. This Lithium NG battery is intended for a modular system with an external Lynx Smart BMS NG.

Which BMS version do I need?
That depends on the maximum inverter, charging and system current. If in doubt, we can check the system design and the required protection.
