The Victron Battery Balancer equalises the charge voltage of two 12V batteries connected in series. This helps to reduce imbalance and premature ageing in 24V battery banks.

Key features ▾
  • Suitable for two 12V batteries in series; multiple balancers can be used in a 48V bank.
  • Starts balancing when there is more than a 50mV difference between the two battery halves.
  • Maximum balancing current of 0.7A when the difference is greater than 100mV.
  • Potential-free alarm relay for indicating severe imbalance.

Application and compatibility ▾

Intended for lead-acid batteries connected in series as a 24V bank. Multiple balancers are used for 48V systems. A balancer does not replace monitoring of battery condition, cabling or charging settings.

Installation and precautions ▾

Connect the balancer to the positive, centre and negative terminals of the battery bank. Use a suitable small fuse in the connection wires and work with the power switched off. Check the centre terminal voltage after installation.

Frequently asked questions ▾

Is this a battery charger?
No. The balancer moves a limited current between the two battery halves; a suitable battery charger is still required.

Does this fix a defective battery?
No. Persistent severe imbalance may indicate a worn battery or a connection problem.
