Sikaflex®-252 White – White Construction Adhesive for Solar Panels on RVs

For strong bonding of plastic spoilers and corner mounts on white RVs

Sikaflex®-252 White is a strong white construction adhesive based on polyurethane. This sealant is widely used for mounting rigid glass solar panels on RVs, caravans, and camper vans. In practice, the sealant is primarily used to bond plastic corner brackets, spoilers, or mounting profiles to the roof. The solar panel is then mechanically attached to these brackets.

Its white color blends aesthetically with white RVs, light roof surfaces, and white plastic components. This makes the installation look neater than with a black adhesive bead. At the same time, Sikaflex®-252 offers the high final strength and flexibility required for vehicles that experience vibrations, movement, and varying temperatures on the road.

Use on plastic substrates: For good adhesion on plastic spoilers, corner brackets, and roofs made of ABS or similar plastic, use Sikaflex Aktivator-100 in combination with Sikaflex Primer 206 GP. First, apply the Aktivator using the wipe-on, wipe-off method with a clean paper cloth. Then use Primer 206 GP. Always consult the Sikaflex documentation and pre-treatment table for the correct procedure; we supply these with the kits.

Use on metal substrates: Does your RV have a metal roof, for example, made of steel or aluminum? Then also use Sikaflex Aktivator-100 in combination with Sikaflex Primer 206 GP for durable and reliable adhesion.

Please note: Sikaflex®-252 is a construction adhesive and therefore not suitable for (semi)flexible solar panels that are directly glued to the roof. For that application, a permanently elastic and UV-resistant sealant is needed, such as a suitable MS polymer sealant.
