Never again shore power — completely off-grid with Mercedes 811D

Merijn and his family first converted a VW Crafter into a camper van themselves, but later decided to tackle a larger Mercedes 811D (light truck) — their new home on wheels for long-term travel through Europe.

Because they often wild camp, it was important to be able to stay off-grid for days without shore power. After their positive experience with the previous van, they once again chose Faraday Energy.

The new system consists of three 200 Wp solar panels, two 200 Ah AGM batteries, a powerful 3000 W inverter/charger/MPPT, and a charge current distributor for recharging while driving. Thanks to the clear wiring diagram, they were able to install everything themselves.
